| The AA searches through over 20 top insurance companies to take the leg-work out of finding insurance and allowing you to get the option that best suits you. The company is also currently offering up to 12.5% online discount on top of its already great value products.
The AA is the expert in finding great value insurance for all kinds of cover and currently offers car insurance, travel insurance and home insurance, along with its traditional product of UK and European Breakdown cover.
The AA have recently made improvements to their not so common motorsyclist insurance. The new and improved motorcyclist insurance includes Up to 50% no-claims discount, which is protected, up to 60 days' motorcycle insurance cover across EU countries and a range of optional extras, including uninsured loss recovery and personal accident cover.
The AA has been providing a trusted service to their members since 1905. The AA was initially started in London’s Trocadero to by a group of motor enthusiasts, the initial intention was to help members avoid speed traps. In 1905 there were only 100 members of the Automobile Association increasing to 83,000 by 1914.
Since this time The AA has expanded from its original offerings to include breakdown cover and insurance. In 1906, The AA put up the UK’s original warning signs and it continued to do this until the early 1930’s when the local government took over the responsibility.
The AA continues to work on behalf of British motorists, lobbying against increased petrol tax and for compulsory seat belts in cars, something which became legal in 1983.
Today, The AA offers almost any product a driver or learner driver could want, from the country’s second largest driving school to a full range of insurance products, UK and European breakdown cover. |

The majority of insurance companies claim they are cheaper than their competition, but in reality it all depends on who you are, where you live and what you do... which makes a review on strictly financial terms difficult.
An aspect that a lot of insurance buyers don't look at is the customer service behind the product. If you have to make a claim you don't want to have to jump through hoops to get the money you are owed - sometimes it is better to pay slightly more for the insurance and to have the assurance than if anything does happen, your claim will be dealt with in a much more efficient manner.
Insurance claims nearly always come after a traumatising time whether it be a car crash, theft or illness. This is the worst time to be dealing with inefficient insurance companies.
With this in mind and though our research of the response time both on the claims phone line and on payment of any owed money we highly recommend The AA.
The fact that The AA doesn't use just one insurance company and allows you to search over 20 different options from one place means that it is a great option for great-value, easy to find insurance.
