Cheap Flights
If you can be flexible with dates and time you travel you can get a better deal on your trip. Peak times to fly are weekends, national holidays and summer holidays are the most popular times and therefore likely to be more expensive; if you are prepared to stay over on a Saturday night, book early and purchase a return flight it will also save a bit of cash. Travelling from different airports may also affect price as certain budget airlines will use specific airports to travel to their destinations. Make sure you check how far the airport is from the city you are travelling and airport transfers. It may work out cheaper to pay more for the flight and less on buses or trains miles to and from the airport.
When to Go
Before booking a great last minute deal check the weather predictions for the destinations. Low season breaks are obviously going to be the cheapest breaks. Some destinations have generally warm weather all year round, but might experience a monsoon season like some parts of Thailand or be very hot in the summer like Dubai.
Other holiday destinations do experience seasons and are better experienced at a certain time of year like Ibiza best between months of May and October while a beach holiday to South Africa get the best weather between the months of October and April. New York, Amsterdam and Paris do have seasons but can be enjoyed all year round due to their vast amount of activities, culture and atmosphere.
