Nokia has re launched its gaming mobile phone with a shift in approach. Nokia's N-Gage was first released on 2003 and designed to compete with handheld gaming devices like GameBoy. The N-Gage was criticised for firstly for poor designs and then poor sales. The gaming approach by Nokia has now been shifted from focusing on a gaming system to gaming titles that can be played on a range of Nokia mobile phones. There was not a market for it before but now with increasing number of people entering the digital world and like to fill time while commuting and waiting, it could be a big revenue maker. Gaming companies including EA, Gameloft and Vivendi have shown interest and are willing to develop games for the Nokia and invest into the development. Top gaming titles will be adapted to be used on the mobile phones with more quick achieving games to fit in with the on the go use of the mobile gamer console. There will also be try before you by options for the game and will have connectivity like instant messaging and a friends list. The games are currently only available for use on the N81 but plans are undergoing for the games to be able to be used across to N series by Nokia.
