T Mobile and Three are the fourth and fifth largest mobile operators in the world and competition in the UK is especially high. This is due to having five networks operating and none of them have more than a 30% share. Three mobile has 90% coverage in the UK and T Mobile has 84% coverage. T Mobile and Three are set to share networks in an attempt to lower bills and create a more competitive pricing system. Recently billions of pounds have been spent on getting 3G licenses and they will hopefully make some of this money back with their new network sharing plans Vodafone and Orange have already announced their plan to share networks to create an annual saving of 30%. Mobile phone tariffs may begin to change due to a much more aggressive market for mobile phones.
