Calls to landlines and mobiles can also be made via Skype at a charge and there are currently 246 million Skype members. 3 mobile have bought out a Skype mobile phone, so cheap calls can be made without having to be on the computer. The 3 Skype phone was put to the test to see if its features will it make it the new must have gadget. Unlike using Skype on a computer calls are not completely free as a monthly contract has to be purchased with the phone. After that Skype to Skype to calls are free over the 3G network in any country that has 3 operating there. A selection of people tested the new 3 Skype phone and the overall conclusion was positive. The sound quality was good and existing Skype users appreciated not having to be tied to the computer to make their calls. Reports also commented that it was easy to use; before you start using the service you have to sign in to the handset. This only takes a minute and the phone will store the details, once signed in the phone will show all your Skype contacts and their status just like it would on a PC. The negative side of things, the Skype phone only works when the phone signal, which is never an issue with a PC. Overall the Skype phone has had positive feedback. Cheap internet calling with the flexibility of using it on a mobile phone is definitely a positive aspect. It probably will not be seen as the new must have gadget but existing Skype users will probably see it as a must have buy.
