Broadband companies fear that they are in danger due to a slowing market. Most households in the UK that use the internet have now already witched over to broadband, and they are running out of customers that are switching from dial up. Between the months of July and September 2007 only 470,000 people in Briton signed up to broadband. This is a huge reduction in comparison to the previous quarter where 510,000 people signed up.

40% of households do not use the internet, and unless there is a drastic social economic progress occurs in Briton broadband companies may face problems. Broadband customers are currently at 15.5 million which is 17% more than last year. BT Broadband and Virgin Media are the largest broadband supplies are set to release results to officially confirm if the broadband market is slowing down.
