3 mobile has done what other mobile networks are too scared to do; and that is providing a phone that allows you to make cheap internet calls via Skype. Skype is the free internet service that allows you to chat to any other Skype member, anywhere in the world, at anytime. There are already 246 million registered users worldwide. This system could be changing the whole phone industry globally. 3 mobile have joined forces with Skype to offer this cheap calling service to both their pay monthly and pay as you customers. This new phone will allow 3 customers to call cheaply via the internet from these new 3 mobiles. It is available free on pay monthly contracts and £49.99 for pay as you go customers. Pay as you go customers will also have to top up £10 a month to receive the Skype service. The new Skype phone also has features for games, getting news, watching TV and surfing the web easily, there is also the chance 3 have also released Skype phones in Australia, Denmark, Italy and Hong Kong. Mobile companies have deliberately stayed away from linking up with Skype with fears that it would damage their business. Skype allows internet calling to be truly mobile and will probably lead to an increase in internet calling. With this in mind 3 thought it would be the one to bring internet calling more available.
