Purchasing a computer is never as difficult as when your new purchase is for a small business. Small businesses have the distinction of working on a tight budget, where making money stretch is essential to the future success of the business. As such, Dell has targeted the small business market by creating affordable, reliable, and versatile computer systems capable of advanced accounting, maintaining an online e-store, or even researching potential services or products. The small business owner requires an affordable solution to a technological necessity. Finding the best value for the money is often a mind boggling experience filled with choices, numbers, and options that make little sense to the purchaser. What the small business owner does know is the potential offered by having a presence on the internet. In addition, a computer allows for software programs that make a small business capable of performing book-keeping, planning, investigating, and preparing for the future. Dell has built a reputation on offering cost-effective solutions to the small business owner. While having an attractive computer may be nice, what really matters is on the inside. All computer systems have basic necessities to insure proper functioning: a processor for speed, RAM for memory, a hard drive for storage, and a graphic card for the graphical user interface ('GUI'). Only by connecting these together, the user is able to perform the desired actions. One successful computer manufacturer with a strong presence in the technological age is Hewlett Packard. While Hewlett Packard may have a record as an industry leader where computer technology is concerned, Dell offers the consumer a cost effective option for computing necessities. A side-by-side comparison of computer systems by both Dell and Hewlett Packard clearly shows the leader in not only technology but cost as well. Hewlett Packard manufactures the HP Pavilion m7690y Series; Dell manufactures the Dimension E520. With the purchase of one of these computer systems the consumer receives an Intel® Core ™ 2 with duo processors with a processor speed of 1.86 GHz. In addition, to help boost performance the consumer receives 2 SDRAM 512MB chips for a total of 1 GB of RAM. Of course Hewlett Packard has includes a trendy 160 GB hard drive for maximum capacity, but Dell has included a much larger 320 GB hard drive. Both computer systems also include the NVIDIA GeForce video card capable of advanced graphical editing, gaming, and surfing the internet while enjoying realistic and lifelike imagery. Additionally, both computer systems come with the same size monitor for easy viewing. The Hewlett Packard Pavilion m7690y series and the Dell Dimension E520 may have vastly different aesthetic appearances, but the inner workings of both computer systems are almost identical. The hard drive of the Dell Dimension is twice the size of the Hewlett Packard Pavilion, and the monitor is actually a better grade of monitor on the Dell Dimension. Another popular computer manufacturer on the market today is Compaq. The Compaq dc7700 Convertible Mini-tower is a computer system specifically created for the small business. However, the Compaq Mini-tower, the Dell Dimension and the HP Pavilion all offer the same exact specifications on these three models, but the major advantage to purchasing a Dell Dimension is something everyone can appreciate: cost. In addition to the exceptional computer system manufactured by Dell, the customer service is as good if not better. With a full 2-year warranty at no additional cost to the purchaser, Dell knows how to win the hearts of small business owners. Hewlett Packard and Compaq both have limited 1-year warranties, and for a better warranty, the consumer will be purchasing an upgrade warranty at higher prices. Not only does Dell cover you now – Dell wants you to have complete customer satisfaction for the future as well. Check out this article where we compare two of the leading brands available on the market - Dell vs HP . The Compaq Mini-tower is double the cost of the Dell Dimension, and the Hewlett Packard Pavilion is in between the cost of the Dell Dimension and the Compaq Mini-Tower. The Dell Dimension offers the same inner workings of the Compaq and the Hewlett Packard, and as such, the only viable difference is in the aesthetics of the computer. A small business depends more on the proficiency of the computer than the external appearance. When a small business is looking for an affordable solution to their computer necessities, the winner is clearly the Dell computer systems. Whether purchasing a desktop or laptop, Dell has all the possibilities a consumer will need for today and for the future.
